Construction
The Avalon series is constructed of extruded aluminum with a 10-1/2" x 3-1/4" profile and two, three, or four lamp cross section. The rigid extruded bottom and side panels are available in lengths up to 12'. Extrusion is reinforced by heavy gauge steel structural endplate supports. Fixtures in rows are joined without the need for tools for either mechanical or electrical connections. The simple, snap-together post and clip connector holds with over 300 pounds of force, ensuring secure, straight rows. Connections may be made end cap to end cap, or with continuous row appearance. Die cast aluminum end caps integrate with the housing. A slotted, specular aluminum reflector controls the downlight component. For a higher percentage of downlight, the specular aluminum reflector (DRF) may be specified. Center-mounted ballasts preclude the need for ballast counterbalancing mechanisms.
Finish
Housing and all painted parts are treated with a multi-stage phosphate prior to finish. Parts are then finished with a white RAL powder coat for maximum consistent coverage and longevity. Other colors may be specified.
Shielding
Versatile shielding options permit a variety of treatments for the side openings. Shieldings may be selected with perforated steel pinhole panels or ScreenArt™ silkscreened acrylic panels for a luminous body, or with solid steel side panels for uplight only. The seam between shielding panels is concealed by an extruded aluminum mullion finished to match the housing to ensure a clean, finished appearance in long, continuous row applications.
Mounting
The Avalon is designed for ceiling suspension with field adjustable cable as standard. Other hanger selections available as options.
Labels and Electrical
All fixtures bear appropriate UL labels. Fixtures are prewired with electronic ballasts available in 120V, 277V, or 347V. All intermediate fixtures, mounted in-row, are furnished with through wiring and quick-connect plugs as standard.
