Construction
Nevis Plus Liso is direct/indirect fluorescent architectural lighting designed for mounting as close as 12" from the ceiling to the bottom of the housing. Nevis Plus Liso is constructed of a heavy 20-gauge steel body with a 12" wide by 2" high profile in 4', 8', or 12' lengths. Fixtures are available with one T5, one T5HO, or two T8 lamps in cross section. Mounting points maintain convenient, predictable locations. The exact shape of the housing is maintained by the use of a patented inner die cast plate at each fixture end (patent 6,796,676 B2) throughout the run to prevent snaking. The housing is designed to wrap around the plate and secures on top with concealed screws to ensure housing tolerances are consistent.
Finish
Housing and all painted parts are treated with a multi-stage phosphate prior to finish. Parts are then finished with a white RAL powder coat for maximum consistent coverage and longevity. Other colors may be specified.
Shielding
Nevis Plus Liso includes both direct and indirect lighting elements. Shielding for the direct element may be selected as a white cross baffle with opal overlay (WCB), regressed perforated panel (RPF), or opal acrylic (OA). Housings may be ordered as solid (Std.), perforated strip (PFST), or diamond patterned perforated strip (DPST) along both sides of the shielding opening to provide visual interest.
Mounting
Nevis Plus Liso is designed to provide smooth ceiling gradients when mounted 12" from the ceiling plane to the bottom of the housing. An adjustable 12" aircraft cable yoke mount is standard. The NPLS profile is only 2" high to allow a 10" suspension length plus 2" for adjustability as desired. Longer lengths are also available as the product provides a wide optical throw at suspensions below 12" as well. The cable yoke attaches from two points at each hanging location. The end of the cable barrel screws into a standard 1⁄4 20 bolt brought down from the ceiling. Cover plates can be used to shield ceiling cutout. Straight (standard) or optional coiled cord is used at feed locations. All fixtures must be supported at each fixture housing end.
Labels and Electrical
All fixtures bear appropriate UL labels. Fixtures are prewired with small case or micro-can electronic T8, T5, or T5HO ballasts in 120V or 277V. Some dual voltage 120/277 options exist. All fixtures are wired standard for single circuit operation. Additional circuits can be supplied as an option.
